Belatedly but gratifyingly, a small victory in grim times. When the library in a small Maine town set out a display including LGBTQ-themed teens' books to mark Banned Books Week, three local pastors wrote demanding removal of the "immodest" material "promoting homosexuality." After a (relatively) fiery public meeting, trustees voted unanimously to keep the sinful display. The enlightened consensus in town: "Let other people read what they sodding want to read."
