In a welcome scrap of good news, every major tech company except Twitter has finally banned the turgid, loathsome ravings of conspiracy crank Alex Jones, who on his bonkers Infowars show - "Fighting for Freedom & Liberty on the Frontlines of Truth Journalism" - has for years spewed lurid tales of how Pentagon-designed hormones in the water turn even frogs gay, 300,000 "anchor baby women" and wives of Chinese intelligence agents are poised to invade us, Obama was creating an army of Illuminati Beyoncés, the Chinese government (Chi Coms) is running Apple not to mention the world, and every mass shooting is a fake perpetrated by actors, which is probably why the parents of murdered kindergarten students at Sandy Hook are currently suing his ass. The Panama Canal is often in there, too, along with an American populace fast becoming "servile hippopotamuses," though shouldn't it be hippopotami?
Enough, declared Apple, YouTube, Spotify and Facebook - but not Twitter - which removed most or all Infowars' podcasts and videos as hate speech. Spotify and YouTube banned them all, Apple deleted most, and Facebook, after first spinelessly banning just four, took them all down "for glorifying violence, which violates our graphic violence policy, and using dehumanizing language to describe people who are transgender, Muslims and immigrants, which violates our hate speech policies." The moves have been widely applauded, though, as The Onion reports, First Amendment experts warn such corporate censorship "could set a completely reasonable precedent for free speech" leading to "a nightmare scenario of measured public discourse.” Showing his usual restraint, Jones charged "the war on your mind is in full swing as globalists remove outlets of liberty and truth" and the species will die "because inbred child molesters in Hollywood had some psychotic dream they wanted to kill everybody," also Venezuela. "Who will stand against Tyranny?" he asks. "We're all Alex Jones now." Actually, mercifully, not.
