Hypocrisy, thy name is the malignant gang of grifters, liars and swamp monsters now in control of many American institutions. Thus on Wednesday, we had the bizarre spectacle of a pink-shroud-engulfed Melania stumbling through an anti-bullying  speech at the U.N. - "Do unto others," proclaimed the stony-faced wife of the creep who just posted a meme of him hitting Hillary Clinton with a golf ball. We also got a dispiriting slew of stories about the GOP's latest God-awful push to deprive Americans of their health care, especially in blue states, even though most of them haven't read it, can't explain or justify it, ignore the opposition to it by virtually every health-care organization in the country, and evade its fundamental cruelty by lying about it, or trying to until Jimmy Kimmel calls them out on it.

It's a tough contest, but surely one of its most repulsive proponents is Health and Human Services Secretary and fan of armor-piercing bullets Tom Price, whose unethical history is so replete with corruption and assaults on the vulnerable he earned his own comic-book, "Out of the Ooze." Among his atrocities, Price has conspired with Big Pharma on insider stock trading, supported allowing hospitals to turn away Medicaid and Medicare patients who couldn't afford co-pays while opposing regulating tobacco, prohibiting discrimination against LGBTQ people, expanding children's health care, funding treatment for AIDS, malaria, mental health and addiction and, most recently, proposed cutting the HHS budget by 18% and slashing Medicaid by $880 billion while arguing that wouldn't cut benefits.

Now, Politico finds, the guy who vowed to cut wasteful government spending and blasted the "fiscal irresponsibility run amok" of politicians taking private jets - yo, Steve Mnuchin -  just last week spent $60,000 on private jets on several short trips, including a half-hour, $25,000 jaunt from Washington to Philadelphia. None of his recent predecessors took private jets while ostensibly doing "the people's work." But Price did. To get the 100 or so miles from D.C. to Philly, he could have taken a commercial flight for under $500. He could have taken one of four Amtrak trains for $72. Or a car for $50 in gas and tolls. Or a bus for $30. He didn't, said a spokeswoman for HHS, because he was very busy on his "mission to enhance and protect the health and well-being of the American people."

But we think he didn't because he is, in the words of some astute pundits, "a fantastic piece of shit" and "eternal prick" who epitomizes the mindless, boundless entitlement that he and his Trumpian cronies carry with them like a disease. A new hashtag suggests a cure: #FirePrice. And then the rest of 'em.

Update: Worse Than We Thought Though At This Point Frankly Not Much Surprises Dept: Politico kept digging, and found that Price has taken at least 24 private jets, often between large cities that offer a multitude of cheap commercial flights, at a cost of over $300,000 to you and me. So much for the well-being of etc.
