Taking Out the Garbage

Let us enjoy a brief but blessed moment of celebration in these uncelebratory times: After 20 ill-advised years of racism, misogyny, homophobia, Islamaphobia, lies, rage and, yes, ongoing sexual harassment of women, longtime douchebag, foul-mouthed miscreant, and "bold fresh piece of humanity" Bill O'Reilly is finally out at Fox after they did a "thorough and careful review" of the grotesque mountain of allegations against him - and, oh yeah, after dozens of advertisers abandoned him. Savor some of his awful highlights, wonder why in God's name it took this long, thank the tireless protesters, and hope for more righteous doors hitting more sordid losers on their way out.

We know things are bad. We know it's worth the fight.

You are part of a strong and vibrant community of thinkers and doers who believe another world is possible. Alone we are weak. Together we can make a difference. At Common Dreams, we don't look away from the world—we are not afraid—our mission is to document those doing wrong and galvanize those doing good. But we can't do it alone. It doesn't work that way. We need you. We have now launched our annual Summer Campaign. Can you pitch in today?
