St. Patrick Was Of Course An Immigrant
The visit here of Irish P.M. Enda Kenny went as well as anything in Trumpland: After many orange gaffes - hats with four-leaf clover not shamrock, greeting in mangled Gaelic, stilted reading of his favorite "Irish proverb" that's in fact a Nigerian poem - the Irish leader, whose own immigrants sent solidarity to ours, cited the status of St. Patrick and so many more. "We were the wretched refuse on the teeming shore. We believed in the shelter of America, in (its) compassion...And we still do."
