When the League of Conservation Voters last week gave a surprising early endorsement to fossil fuel shill HiIlary Clinton, the key environmental player, whose top priority is addressing climate change, called Clinton "the most effective leader to stand up to Big Polluters." Leaving the next day, the most effective leader to stand up to Big Polluters hopped aboard a $13.3 million Learjet 60 that consumes 203 gallons of jet fuel an hour - putting its carbon footprint at 4,283 pounds or over two tons an hour -  with her hypocrisy gleefully documented by a right-wing group.

At the same time, Bernie Sanders, who is backed by an array of other environmental groups, clambered aboard his usual mode of transportation - a commercial airplane, coach class - with his subsequent wrestling match between carry-on bag and overhead bin documented by one delighted fellow-traveler. In fact, Sanders has been spotted in coach - invariably in the middle seat, yet - that supporters have started the hashtag ‪#‎SandersOnAPlane‬ to celebrate what one calls "an extraordinary ordinary guy." Cue some hilarious selfies. But sheesh, Bernie. Next time, treat yourself to a window.
