The New York City Medical Examiner has ruled the July 17 choking death of Eric Garner by NYPD officers - for the crime of standing on the sidewalk while black and possibly peddling untaxed cigarettes - a homicide, thus confirming what anyone who saw the brutal video of his attack would call it. As city officials confront widespread rage at how "routine arrests are becoming modern day lynchings," a powerful flash mob of over 100 Broadway actors, directors and musicians partnered with WalkRunFly Productions and poet Daniel J. Watts in front of the Times Square police station to "provoke not riot but conversation" and "offer dissent on police matters."
