Pity the beleaguered right-wing cultural warriors, who have been reduced to protesting a stamp - issued by the feds, and a forever one, at that - honoring "a child predator, at the whim of a drag queen." The so-called American Family Association frets the "sordid" release of the Harvey Milk stamp is "disturbing to say the least," given that Milk "was a very disreputable man and used his charm and power to prey on young boys with emotional problems and drug addiction" and that "the radical homosexual lobby will undoubtedly encourage businesses to use these stamps - all in the name of inclusiveness, political correctness and diversity," even though "this is not diversity; this is perversity." Thankfully, they offer members distressed by this new equitable world in which they find themselves a helpful solution: 1. Refuse to accept the Harvey Milk stamp if offered by your local post office, and ask for a stamp of the United States flag, and 2. Refuse to accept mail if it's postmarked with this obscenity. They admit these are small acts, but "Unfortunately, the deed is done." Yup, it is, and all the boats in fact have sailed. Meanwhile, some wiseacres, wondering perhaps how far their flat earth extends, have sent in small donations festooned with the exuberant Harvey.
