Pope, We Need to Speak (and Speak Again) About Justice

From Mondoweiss, a bit of revealing backstory to the Pope's unscheduled stop Sunday to pray for "the gift of peace" at the Apartheid Wall near graffiti reading "Pope, Bethlehem Look Like Warsaw Ghetto" - which was, many noted, "not an image Israel wanted." The day before, activists had painted "Welcome Pope," "Refugees Want to Go Home," and other messages on the Wall. Israeli security officials chased them off and painted over them. But just before the Pope arrived, the activists came back to speak again, as they always will.
