Alberto Gonzales Is Still Here, and Still Doesn't Deserve To Be

Abby Zimet

Torture memo author and all-round slimebag Alberto "I don't recall" Gonzales has a new job as dean of a fourth-rate Christian law school start-up in Tennessee, a bit of news being dutifully reported by a straight-faced press that seems to have forgotten what a lame excuse for a human being, never mind a lawyer, he is. Why is this man, who had the chutzpah to call himself "one of the many casualties of the war on terror," free and getting jobs at so-called law schools? He should be in jail, subject to all the things that people in jail are subject to, preferably in a country that thinks the Geneva Conventions are quaint. May karma find him. Here's why. And why.

“I look forward to being a part of this but most of all I look forward to continuing to interact with the students as we all work together collectively to make Belmont the greatest law school that it can be.”

This is the world we live in. This is the world we cover.

Because of people like you, another world is possible. There are many battles to be won, but we will battle them together—all of us. Common Dreams is not your normal news site. We don't survive on clicks. We don't want advertising dollars. We want the world to be a better place. But we can't do it alone. It doesn't work that way. We need you. If you can help today—because every gift of every size matters—please do.
