Never mind the more salient points: She's the Socialist daughter of Spanish immigrants who has promised green spaces, expanded child care, greater economic equity and more public transportation in a victory in marked contrast to an alarming rise of right-wing parties elsewhere in France. To the (still predominantly male) media on her girl-ness: Get over it already.
