No Justice, No Piece: Domino's Fires Workers Seeking Living Wage Because, What, Do They Expect A Living Wage?
A Domino's Pizza in New York City has reportedly fired 20 employees who joined last week's nationwide fast food protests after they complained about unfair wages and lousy working conditions. The delivery workers - who are paid under $6 an hour and rely heavily on tips - had been asked to work extended hours inside, with no tips or raise to minimum wage. One of many NYC companies accused of various forms of wage theft, Domino's has already faced worldwide protests and charges of illegally firings. And their pizza is gross.

Surveillance Is Theft: World's Leading Authors Protest NSA
Calling it "a stand for democracy in the digital age," 560 of the world's most renowned writers, including five Nobel prize winners, have signed a petition condemning state surveillance and urging the U.N. to create an international bill of digital rights. The authors, whose appeal is being published in over 30 newspapers and can be signed by the public, says the surveillance revealed by Edward Snowden violates privacy, compromises freedom of thought and undermines the right of us all to remain "unobserved and unmolested." "A person under surveillance is no longer free; a society under surveillance is no longer a democracy."
