Anything Can Happen: RNC Celebrates End of Racism As Students Arrested For Waiting for School Bus While Black

A GOP effort to honor Rosa Parks with a tweet about how she "ended" racism has gone about as well as could be expected, with them making a hasty retreat amidst reminders of how premature the claim was and a bitterly hilarious  Twitter campaign - RacismEndedWhen "they chased a white guy on COPS," "black people stopped getting so much free stuff," "I missed it - when did racism end?" The debacle ended perfectly with the widely circulated story of three black teenage athletes in Rochester, N.Y. arrested while waiting for a school bus to a basketball game after a police officer told them to "disperse," and they didn't. Of such impertinence is history made.

From the police report: The boys were blocking “pedestrian traffic while standing on a public sidewalk…preventing free passage of citizens walking by and attempting to enter and exit a store…Your complainant gave several lawful clear and concise orders for the group to disperse and leave the area without complaince (sic).”
