Another day of rage as a spineless Senate failed to pass even a modest sliver of sensible gun legislation supported by 90% of Americans, making for what an angry Obama called "a pretty shameful day for Washington" - increasingly that place, notes one observer, where change goes to die. But nobody's giving up. Here are legislators' votes yay and nay; here is a vow by progressives to hold them accountable; here is a furious and determined screed from Gabrielle Giffords, who insists that if Congress won't change gun laws, we'll change Congress; and here's a hardball video from States United to Prevent Gun Violence.
WTF Update: Considering in amendments on concealed carry, more legislators actually voted to loosen gun laws than tighten them.
Another: Two former gun violence victims and current gun control advocates underwent lengthy interrogations and background checks by law enforcement officials after shouting "Shame on you!" from the Senate gallery when even the grossly watered-down legislation failed to pass.
One More: New analysis shows that all but three of 45 Senators who voted no got money from the gun lobby, some as recently as a few weeks ago.
