The Just War Theory
In honor of Easter, religious leaders have their say on Obama's drones and the so-called Just War Theory. From Brave New Foundation . “The use of remote-controlled drones to assassinate targeted persons without charge, trial, or even at least the chance to surrender is about as un-Christian a maneuver as I can imagine.” - Rev. Paul Zahl

So Your Groundwater's Poison and Your Tap Water's On Fire. Not to Worry: Fracking Chemicals Are Trade Secrets You Don't Need To Know About
A judge in Wyoming has denied a lawsuit by environmental groups asking that the lists of chemicals in fracking fluids be made public, ruling those lists are trade secrets. Soooo: Never mind that toxins have already shown up in Wyoming tap water, an accident there last year contaminated groundwater, an accident in Pennsylvania spewed a quarter million gallons of toxic and possibly radioactive wastewater, a blowout in Texas, already worried about carcinogenic dust and groundwater, just destroyed a fracking site, etc etc. What, you think it's your water? Let the companies keep their secrets.

'Leading the Targeted Killing Revolution': Weapons Maker General Atomics Gets Punk'd
Some clever bugger in the UK has punked weapons manufacturer General Atomics by cloning their website and offering some rather more useful information about the company's role in the global targeting killing campaign operated by US and British forces. General Atomics is making enormous profits from the futile, perpetual 'War on Terror'. The families and communities ripped apart by its products have been less fortunate. [...] Download 'Living Under Drones' a recent report demonstrating the effectiveness of our products.

Willie: People Are People
Here's the ever-cool Willie Nelson and his contribution to the gay marriage debate, of which he says, "It's ridiculous (this) is something we're having a conversation about in this day and age." Texas Monthly has more from the 79-year-old Nelson, who once covered the song “Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other." "I've known straight and gay people all my life. I can't tell the difference...But I'd never marry a guy I didn't like."

Cashing In At $4 Million: Lanny Breuer Goes Home After A Job Badly Done
After inexplicably failing to bring any prosecutions of Wall Street executives who crashed the economy in his alleged job heading the criminal division at the Justice Department, Lanny Breuer is returning to his old firm, where he will defend the same corporations he worked so hard to protect at the DOJ. He will make about $4 million for so gracefully gliding through the obscene, golden revolving door.

Because Guns (Also Spoons) Don't Kill People, Free Shotguns For All!
Seeking to "take back our city" from crime and gun violence, an Armed Citizen Project affiliate in Tucson has announced a brilliant plan to give away free shotguns in high-crime neighborhoods, an idea that critics and other people with brains are calling "pure idiocy." The intiative was organized by a GOP failed mayoral candidate who believes that linking guns to gun violence is "like saying spoons are responsible for making people fat,” which should be enough, but actually there's more.

Wind Wins, Windbag Loses: Scots Approve Wind Project, Give Trump the Finger
Ignoring hysterical threats from Donald Trump to "spend whatever monies are necessary" to stop an offshore state-of-the-art windfarm from destroying the "masterpiece" that is his stupid gazillion-dollar golf course, a steadfast Scottish government has approved the project. Wind advocates say it will generate enough power for almost half Aberdeen's homes and test new offshore designs. Trump says the project is "ridiculous," a concept that should be familiar to him. We (heart) Scotland.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind: See Every Drone Strike in Pakistan Since 2004 and the (Almost Entirely Innocent) People They Killed
Seeking clarity - and outrage - from a murky war, data visualization designers Pitch Interactive have created a chilling infographic that shows every drone strike on Pakistan since 2004. Of an estimated 3,100 people killed, 1.5% are high-profile targets, or suspected bad guys. The rest are children, civilians, and "other" - those identified by the U.S. as alleged combatants simply because they are adult males. See each drone fall - and see them gather force - as though you're there, though of course we're not.

Flush Rush
With marriage equality in the news, this dirt bag is spouting more ugly slime than ever: Same-sex marriage is like having sex with a child or marrying a dog, marriage equality is how normalcy gets perverted, and, with no irony from an obese substance-abuser, all lesbians are obese substance abusers. A year after advertisers fled Limbaugh's Sandra Fluke implosion, he is hurting but still on the air. Help flush him out. Enough was enough some time ago.
