Exposing perhaps in some definitive way the lie of Israeli democracy, the findings of a new poll published in Haaretz show that a majority of Israeli Jews believe Israel practices apartheid in the West Bank, and are fine with that reality. More: Almost half of Jews polled want the state to treat Jewish citizens better than Arab ones; three-quarters want roads dividing Israelis from Palestinians in the West Bank; 59% want preferential treatment over Arabs to get ministerial jobs; 42% don't want to live in the same building or have their kids in the same classroom as Arabs; a third don't want Palestinian citizens to be able to vote and 69% don't think Palestinians in the West Bank should get to vote if it's annexed by Israel. Much more, all appalling. Though to Israeli Arabs, unsurprising.
