Opening with the ominous, “It may feel like just another day at the office, but  occasionally, life feels more like an action movie than reality,” a new six-minute video from Houston offers tips for surviving "an active shooter event" at your workplace. Authorities are working hard to keep you safe," it assures us less than convincingly, but sometimes "bad people do bad things, and unfortunately you need to be prepared for the worst." Creepy, scary, oh so sad. Brought to you by the Houston Mayor’s Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security - and, indirectly but really, the NRA.

“We didn’t release it at the time because we didn’t know it was relevant. Now it is,” Dennis Storemski, head of the Mayor’s Office of Public Safety. The film was made before the Aurora shootings, but just released.
