Don't Forget Ed: If Our Schools Fail, So Will Everything Else

Noting that education is "shockingly underplayed" in the run-up to elections, an advocacy group kicked off its "Don't Forget Ed!" campaign with an installation on the National Mall to illustrate the country's drop-out rate: 857 desks for the 857 kids who drop out of high school every hour of every school day. In a savvy note, The College Board's petition urges the candidates to offer "real, tangible solutions," and "not just the same old platitudes."
