Heartland (Barely) and the Unabomber: Warm Is Good for People

Abby Zimet

The climate-change-denying Heartland Institute is reportedly circling the wagons at this week's annual conference in Chicago after a disastrous billboard campaign comparing believers in global warming to madmen and psychopaths. Heartland has lost over 35% of its corporate donations - forcing it for the first time to publicly acknowledge taking coal industry money - staff, board directors and conference sponsors, as well as sparking a billboard war, protests, and memes.

Update: A report from a surreal, diminished conference where speakers blasted "warmists” and “enviro-fascist madness,” urged the return of ddt, and insisted environmental concern is "identical to communism."

“Warm is good for people, and it’s particularly good for people as they get older. The people that warm spells kill are already moribund.”
