Tasers Kill (Still)
A new medical study has found that electrical shock to the chest from a Taser - used by over 16,700 law enforcement agencies in 107 countries - can lead to cardiac arrest and sudden death. While Amnesty International and other groups have long cited the dangers of tasing, the study is the first in a peer-reviewed publication. It looked at the cases of eight people hit by a Taser X26. Seven died. “This is no longer arguable. This is a scientific fact." - cardiologist Dr. Byron Lee.

Separate Is Never Equal
Wild-eyed opponents of marriage equality in North Carolina are proposing a measure that would declare marriage between a man and woman "the only domestic legal union," thereby banning not just same-sex marriage but all unmarried couples. To show that a. marriage equality is a basic civil rights issue and b. the bill would "(write) discrimination, prejudice and injustice into our constitution," opponents have come up with striking images - and the slogan, "Make history, don't repeat it."
