Black Cop Shot 28 Times by White Cops Convicted Of Attempted Murder. Really.
An incredible, under-reported story out of Chicago, where Howard Morgan, 60, a former cop working railroad security, was stopped for an alleged traffic violation, shot 28 times by white former colleagues, and survived, only to be charged and tried twice - by a prosecutor who argued, "Every bullet he got, he earned" - for trying to kill them. Occupy Chicago is involved . And there's a petition. Update: Morgan was sentenced Thursday to 40 years in prison. "I am in God's hands." - Morgan after being sentenced.

A Question of Safety: Police Spray Students, Again
Up to 30 people - including a child - were pepper-sprayed by police as students protested a Santa Monica College board meeting over proposed tuition hikes. A college spokesman argued "the crowd was getting out of hand" as they chanted "No cuts, no fees, education should be free" and tried to enter the meeting for a public comment session. Man. Video.
