Fox News Loves the Chevy Volt Even Though It's Spent All This Time Demonizing It

Abby Zimet

Your rare chance to watch Fox without suffering gastrointestinal distress, or not as much: After endless stories perpetuating lies and myths about Chevy's electric Volt as an “exploding Obamamobile,” Fox inexplicably ran a story debunking all their previous lies and myths, albeit with enough Obama-digs and Fox-speak - "Can the Volt help win the War on Terror?" - to make us occasionally gag. The Volt as "the best way to bring all American energy (home)" and "the safest car on the road"? Who knew. Watch and learn.

(Sorry, Fox doesn't seem to want to embed here. No idea why.)

"They (read: We) are perpetuating the myth that the Volt was some kind of Obama administration green energy fantasy...It’d been in development two years before Obama was elected. And it was championed by Bob Lutz, who is a conservative and a climate change skeptic... (And) the tax break for buying the Volt was implemented by the Bush administration."
