The Kerfuffle Over Forced Ultrasounds, Which Are Not Empowering, Nope.

Just in time for International Women's Day and despite widespread protests and arrests, Virginia's GOP Governor Bob McDonnell has signed a bill forcing women to undergo an ultrasound prior to an abortion. Anti-choice activists called the move "a victory for women and their unborn children" ensuring  women "will no longer be kept in the dark about their pregnancies." McDonnell called it "empowering" and likened ultrasounds to ear-piercing. This, says Tara Casey, is a load of crap.
