SeaWorld San Diego has launched a live penguin cam through March and April. Watching them, it's hard not to think a. how much happier they'd be in Antarctica, b. of the poignant scene in Happy Feet and c. of their uncertain fate if Koch et al have their way. Still, they're pretty entertaining. Also noisy.

The cautionary tale of Tonya McDowell, a single homeless Connecticut mother convicted of enrolling her son in a good school he wasn't supposed to go to, and later convicted of selling drugs to undercover cops newly alerted to her - ie: convicted of being the wrong color, class, gender in the wrong place. She was sentenced to five years in prison. She joins over six million people, most black men, under "correctional supervision" in America. A Matter of Priority: Sorry We Burned the Korans, But We're All Good With Drones
Last week, even as the last of the Hancock 38 were sentenced in upstate New York for protesting U.S. drone attacks and " standing on the side of our human family," the U.S. was launching no less than three investigations into the crime of soldiers at Bagram Air Base burning books - or three more than the number of investigations into the hundreds of civilians killed by our ill-conceived drone attacks. Meet Ann Romney, Horseback Hobo
Here comes another beleaguered Romney, Ann this time, talking about how she doesn't feel wealthy despite her $250 million, because, who knows, one day she might have to make a 5 a.m. flight to California just to get that "soothing rhythm of horses and riding that sings to my soul.” Hard times.
