Pro-Life Super Bowl: Beer and Trucks and Fetuses

Abby Zimet

If he can raise the money, anti-abortion wingnut and Democratic "presidential candidate" Randall Terry hopes to run gruesome Super Bowl ads in 40 cities, featuring bloody aborted fetuses curled around religious icons, by exploiting an FCC loophole on ads by political candidates. Terry's ads are here. Warning: Stomach-turningly graphic. We're not showing them.

And keep in mind: Lawmakers across the country passed a record number of reproductive health measures in 2011, a new report from the Guttmacher Institute finds, enacting 135 measures in 36 states, way up from the 89 enacted in 2010. Sixty-eight percent of the laws — 92 in 24 states — restrict access to abortion services.

"We will reach TENS OF MILLIONS OF AMERICANS, and get enormous media coverage as well. And THAT, my friend, is what the babies deserve. And it is exactly what people like “Sophia” and The Abortion Gang who murder unborn babies dread. They FEAR Americans seeing the truth. Let’s be a voice for the babies." - From Terry's fund-raising pitch.
