GOP Decides Loyalty Oath Will Solve the Problem of Unpredictable Democracy and Other (Possibly Messy) Surprises of Life

Trying to leave nothing to chance after already screwing things up in this election cycle, Virginia's Republican Party will now require voters to sign a loyalty oath in order to vote in the upcoming primary. The notion that anyone wishing to vote in a primary must pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee for president so egregiously undermines "the basic principle of democratic government" that even some GOP oppose it; these days, in this climate, we guess that passes for a hopeful development.
