We Will Stand: Defending Voting Rights (Again)


The Justice Department has rejected South Carolina’s measure requiring photo I.D. at polls as discriminatory, even as the ACLU and a national rights group are suing Wisconsin, the latest of 38 states to have passed or be considering similar voter suppression measures - often in the form of mandating government-issued photo I.D.s, as in South Carolina, that many older or minority voters lack. Two moving videos - of Ruthelle Frank, 84, of Brokaw, Wisc. and from Brave New Foundations partnering with the NAACP  - illustrate what's at stake.
