We the People. No, Really.
Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) has introduced a proposed People’s Rights Amendment, part of a movement to undo the Supreme Court's appalling Citizens United ruling. There's also a Senate version , grassroots petition, and the ever-helpful Robert Reich ex p laining why corporations aren't people - though if they were, he notes, they'd be lousy citizens. "Now is the time for (an) Amendment that lifts up the promise of American self-government: of, for, and by the people."

Last night Keith Olbermann spoke to Dorli Rainey, the 84-year-old woman pepper-sprayed at Occupy Seattle. A longtime activist , she has a blog, Old Lady in Combat Boots; its slogan, "Change begins in the streets." We want to be her. Her response to how she's doing: "I'm so energized. It's amazing what a little pepper spray will do for you."
