Standing Against Cheney
On his first book tour stop out of the U.S., several hundred rowdy protesters greeted Dick Cheney in Vancouver, forcing those attending the event to be hauled over them by police. The protests came a week after Human Rights Watch urged Canada to arrest Cheney, calling the visit "a rare opportunity to remedy (the) shameful failure" of the U.S. to do so. "We do this not just for catharsis or out of our own anger at the (Cheney) policies...but also out of a sense of responsibility to international law and historical justice. An injury to one is truly an injury to all."
