Making the World Go Round: War, Burgers, Cheap Stuff

A snapshot of the global economy from The Economist shows the world's largest employers are military operations - U.S. and China, 3.2 and 2.3 million people, respectively - and seven of the top 10 are government-run, thus disputing pretty much everything about right-wing economic doctrine. The three private companies are Walmart, McDonald's and Taiwan's electronics behemoth Hon Hai, which owns Foxconn. About the only useful company here are the U.K.'s National Health Service and India's trains, way down the list.
