Virginia has declared a state of emergency in preparation for the arrival of Hurricane Irene, which could cause the worst flooding and damage of the last hundred years, but the upright House Majority Leader Eric Cantor - of Virginia - isn't about to dole out federal funds to any lazy malingerers just because they've lost their house and everything they own, no sirree bob. Just like when that so-called tornado hit Joplin, Mo., he says any disaster relief funds must be paid for with cutting spending somewhere else. Hey, we know: Let's cut that heartless bastard's salary.
