Seven Months For "A Slight Political Objection"


Michael Lyons, a Royal Navy medic and one of Britain's few conscientious objectors, has been sentenced to seven months detention after refusing rifle training before deployment in Afghanistan because he developed moral objections following revelations by Wikileaks. His wife said his request for conscientious objector status was turned down because he was an atheist.
