Jon Huntsman's launch of his presidential bid has been intriguing, though maybe not in ways he wanted. Its first day, the campaign screwed up the spelling of his name, the state where he announced, camera visuals meant to showcase Lady Liberty that didn't quite, and press arrangements that almost put reporters on a plane to Saudi Arabia rather than New Hampshire. Still, the Times reported his campaign "lived up to its early reputation for expert stage management," which kinda makes you wonder about their agenda. Finally, he released the last installment in a truly weird video campaign featuring a motocross driver pretending to be Huntsman, full of bizarre references and non-sequiturs - "Not in it for the balloons"? - that doesn't mention his name but does mention his former rock band, and that has already prompted spoofs from Utah Democrats. Yup, "this guy is different," alrighty.
