Slime-Ball Politics From the Kochs: Fake Evictions

Abby Zimet

The Koch Bros. may have reached a new low with fake eviction notices on homes in Detroit - with one of the highest foreclosure rates nationwide - to scare people into opposing a new bridge to Canada. Oh yeah: the old bridge is owned by a friend of theirs. They said the notices were meant to "startle" people, and they did - one resident said his mother "damn near keeled over."  Critics savaged the move as "emotional terrorism...substantively shameful, contextually inexcusable," which sounds about right.
