On Strauss-Kahn: Now Ain't the Time For Your Tears

Dominique Strauss-Kahn - former IMF chief, accused rapist and apparently famed sexual predator - has moved into a $14 million, $50,000-a-month  Tribeca townhouse with four bedrooms, skylights, rooftop garden, movie theater and gym. His first night there, he and his wife spent $242 on dinner. His victim, a single mother and hotel maid from Guinea, lives in an apartment in the Bronx; she was said to be terrified when she learned her attacker is a man of “great power and wealth.” So she should be: The issues of class, race, gender and power in this case have yet to play out, but justice is a long way off and Dylan's Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll somehow comes to mind.
