Facing the nightly risk of rape by young men seeking AIDS-free victims, older women in Nairobi's Korogocho slum are learning martial arts - in the words of their teacher Sheila Kariuki, "telling the world you don't like what these young boys are doing to you, and telling them to stop." “I pray so much for them not to come...(But) if a young man wants to rape me, now I know where to hit.” - Gladys Wanjiku, who says she must be “about 100.”
