A GOP-majority, Tea-Party-backed school board in North Carolina
has voted to abolish policies aimed at promoting school
diversity in a move critics are blasting as a not-particularly-well-disguised return to segregation - and a scary first look at what Tea Party politics look like in practice. The NAACP
has filed a civil rights complaint and charges that Tea Partyers are
trying to "turn back the clock." You bet, say supporters of the new
