Post-Arizona, The Perfect (Well-Armed, Poorly Regulated) Direction For Us

Oops. It seems some airline pilot armed by the TSA who was supposed to be flying from New York to Pennsylvania lost
his bag and gun, which were picked up by some woman with two kids
boarding a flight to Florida. She noticed the bag on board.
That means it didn't get screened or otherwise noticed by anyone. Oh good: lost guns lying around on
airplanes. Much official embarrassment ensued. This makes us feel way
better. Still, we wonder how much more of this sort of thing will be
happening now that everyone and his Tea Party uncle will be packing heat. Tragedy
waiting to happen? Naaah.

This is the world we live in. This is the world we cover.

Because of people like you, another world is possible. There are many battles to be won, but we will battle them together—all of us. Common Dreams is not your normal news site. We don't survive on clicks. We don't want advertising dollars. We want the world to be a better place. But we can't do it alone. It doesn't work that way. We need you.
