Speaking Truth to Power: What Does It Cost?

A group of LGBT activists from GetEQUAL working to end "don't ask, don't
tell" launched protests by land, sea, and air Monday night as President
Obama attended a $5,000-a-head Democratic fundraiser at the Miami home of NBA star Alonzo Mourning. Shamefully, banned from
the event (though he'd sent in his check, which was returned) was Anthony Woods - a black former Democratic Congressional
candidate, West Point and Harvard grad, 2-tour Iraq War veteran, and gay
activist honorably discharged under DADT. Officials were apparently concerned he'd actually bring up the subject of Democrats' pathetic waffling on repealing DADT. It seems $5,000 and two tours of duty in Iraq aren't enough to earn you the right to call these guys on their unfulfilled promises.
