Vets Call Out Big Oil: "We Will Not Let That Stand"

Insisting that "breaking our addiction to oil
is a matter of American security," VoteVets.org has launched
a national ad campaign to fight the almost $30 million in ads being run
by the American Petroleum Institute this year alone. The first ad by
VoteVets.org - which describes itself as a "pro-military" organization
of Iraq and
Afghanistan veterans  - features Dante Zappala, whose brother Sgt.
Sherwood Baker was
killed in Iraq.

"My big brother went to Iraq to keep us safe.  He came home in a
flag-draped coffin.  America lost another hero.  Big Oil wants to talk
about costs?  Don't let Big Oil lie to you about what our dependence
really costs."

A free and independent press is essential to the health of a functioning democracy
