It was on this date three years ago that the mercenaries of
Blackwater shot and killed 17 Iraqi civilians in Baghdad in the most
brutal known display of what they did for too long for too much money in
too many places. Now The Nation's Jeremy Scahill reports that Blackwater subsidiaries have also provided "intelligence,
training and security services" to a host of major multinational firms,
including Chevron, Walt Disney, Royal Caribbean
Cruise Lines, Deutsche Bank and bio-tech behemoth Monsanto, for whom they provided operatives to
infiltrate activist groups.
