Brand Israel: Vibrant Diversity and House Demolitions

Abby Zimet

To highlight the over 24,000 Palestinian homes destroyed by Israel
and the Occupation they symbolize, Jews for A
Just Peace in North Carolina set up a
demolition tableau to protest a dance festival performance by an Israeli

performance was part of a "Brand Israel" PR campaign to reshape Israel's image. Video here. Watch the spectators' faces.

"If Israel does not want to be seen as an occupier
human rights violator, it should put down its weapons instead of
hiding them behind dancers' costumes." - Rann
Israeli member of Jews for a Just

This is the world we live in. This is the world we cover.

Because of people like you, another world is possible. There are many battles to be won, but we will battle them together—all of us. Common Dreams is not your normal news site. We don't survive on clicks. We don't want advertising dollars. We want the world to be a better place. But we can't do it alone. It doesn't work that way. We need you. If you can help today—because every gift of every size matters—please do.
