Amidst all the outrage about veteran journalist Helen Thomas intemperately saying what so many on the left, including many Jews, feel but more politely say - "The Jews should get the hell out of Palestine" - some are defending her for what she likely meant, adding meaningful context to the trap of sound bites. Trashing Their Base
It's bad enough that Arkansas' corporate-funded Blanche Lincoln fought off the challenge by labor-backed, more progressive Bill Halter - just barely, it must be noted – to the grating tune of headlines like "Lincoln Beats Anger On the Left." Now the White House is pissing on its base again by blasting labor for "flushing $10 million down the toilet on a pointless exercise." Alas, much good will goes down as well. Shooting At Boys
A U.S. Border Patrol agent shot and killed a 14-year-old kid under a bridge on the Texas border while he was hanging out with friends. Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereca had no plans to cross the border; he may or may not have thrown a rock at an agent, for which he was shot in the head. This is the legacy of Arizona-think. Shame.
