A coalition of civil rights and labor groups organized by the
National Council of La Raza has announced a well-deserved national boycott of
Arizona over its new anti-immigration law. To date, 23 meetings
scheduled in Arizona have been cancelled,
with a loss of at least $6 million.

"When a law so contrary to our values is passed, we must act
We are calling for a boycott because this law will blow open the door
to increased racial profiling, wrongful arrests, and other
discrimination," said NCLR President Janet Murguía. "The law is so
extreme, and its proponents appear so immune to
an appeal to reason, that nothing short of these extraordinary measures
is required."
