It was a loaded day: armed rallies, Oklahoma City, inchoate anger in the
air. And grief. Relatives of some of the young victims at Virginia
Teach and at Columbine, which marks its 11th anniversary today, took
out ads urging Senate action on a gun show loophole that still
allows anyone to buy a gun without a background check. Was there ever a
better time to close it? 

This is the world we live in. This is the world we cover.
