In an effort to reduce wasteful spending and non-essential services,

long-ineffectual Senate, thus saving us all over $300 billion a year,
the Onion reports. Not only have Senators misspent
billions over the years, but they have derailed a wide range of useful
programs, from social
welfare to job creation to environmental protection.
