Big News: The Republicans actually voted for, not against something, sort of. In a 416-0 vote, including 170 Republicans, the House approved a measure to ban RNC fundraising letters marked "census document" that bear a remarkable but no doubt wholly unintentional resemblance to the real
census about to get underway. The GOP thus voted for a modicum of
subtlety in fundraising trickery. As is their habit, they also thus
voted against Chairman Michael Steele, who had defended the mailers as
perhaps a tad slimey but not yet illegal so what's the problem?
