A chilling admission from Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair that government agencies may kill
U.S. citizens abroad if someone somewhere determines they are involved
in terrorist activities. Without specifically naming U.S.-born cleric
al-Aulaqi, said to have been recently targeted for his ties to
al-Qaeda, Blair told the House Intelligence Committee he was speaking
up to reassure us about "carefully observed" procedures. Somehow, we're not at all sure he did. Can you say: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan....?
"(Intelligence agencies and the Department of Defense) follow a set of
defined policy and legal procedures that are very carefully observed."
