Even before last week's disastrous Supreme Court decision on Citizens
United - talk about your misnomer - it seems the Chamber of Commerce's
lobbying arm was already outspending both political parties for the first time. With a budget more than twice that of Democrats, the Chamber spent
much of its money on effective campaigns against things we needed -
cap-and-trade, health reform - which makes us uneager for the
well-funded corporate-tinged future.
