Al Gonzales Lived, He Left a Mark

A jaw-dropping interview with Alberto Gonzales in Esquire. Among the nuggets:

All the internal investigations are over with, no finding of wrongdoing, no finding that I misled Congress.

I think 90 percent of what happened to me is politics, pure and simple.

The notion that what happened at Abu Ghraib was a result of the
policies of the Bush administration I just think is totally ridiculous.

The notion that we'd have to get
legalistic about torture, yeah, can be offensive to me. It's
inconsistent with American values.
